Are you ready to be the welcoming face of a modern accounting practice and one of the largest independent firms in Scotland? Our client is seeking a professional and reliable Receptionist to join their vibrant office based in the Eastern Scottish Borders on a fixed-term contract for three months, with a possibility to be extended.

About the Role:

As the first point of contact for visitors, clients, and staff, you will play a key role in ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience. This full-time position (Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pm) involves a variety of administrative tasks that support office operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet visitors with a friendly smile and professional demeanour.
  • Answer incoming calls promptly, directing them to the appropriate team members.
  • Take accurate messages and ensure timely follow-up actions.
  • Maintain a tidy and organised reception area.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments, meetings, and conferences.
  • Handle filing, record-keeping, and office organisation.
  • Prepare, sort, and distribute mail and deliveries.
  • Manage office supplies, ensuring stock levels are maintained.
  • Support the office management team with day-to-day tasks.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion.
What We're Looking For:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience as a receptionist or in a customer service role.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • A professional appearance and demeanour.
  • Familiarity with office management systems and basic administrative procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general office equipment.
  • Experience with phone systems and scheduling is preferred.
