School Administrator/Receptionist

My client are seeking a dedicated and organised individual to join our team as a School Administrator/Receptionist on a temporary basis starting in September. This role is ideal for someone who has a passion for education and is looking to contribute to the smooth running of a school’s administrative tasks. Previous experience in a school environment is desirable but not essential.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Serve as the first point of contact at the school reception, greeting visitors, students, and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
- Handle incoming calls and emails, directing enquiries to the appropriate departments.
- Manage the school’s administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, organising files, and maintaining records.
- Assist in the preparation of correspondence, reports, and newsletters.
- Support the coordination of school events and meetings.
- Ensure the reception area is tidy and presentable at all times.
- Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, and faxing.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with office management procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
- A friendly and approachable demeanour.
- Previous experience in an administrative role is advantageous.
