Passionate about people, youllenjoy the scope and support to enhance your own life too, as you make the roleyour own as part of a friendly and multidisciplinary team.As directed by the SDAS Young Persons & Family Service Manager FamilySafeguarding Team Leader, the Safeguarding Recovery Worker will be an integralmember of a multi-disciplinary team within the Somerset Family SafeguardingTeam delivering comprehensive interventions, underpinned by MotivationalInterviewing Techniques, that will include delivering a full range ofoutreach, open access and case management services, Support medically assistedrecovery where appropriate, and recovery interventions to families affected bysubstance use where children are subject to Children Protection or Child inNeed Plans.As a Family Safeguarding Recovery Worker we offer a starting salary of £24,150rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, rising to£28,252 per year (Pro-Rata). This includes working with adults andyoung people with a history of substance use to achieve their goals andimprove outcomes for the whole family.The Safeguarding Family Recovery Worker is responsible for providing the fullrange of services across an operational site in Somersetas well as theoutreach provision in the locality area.The Safeguarding Family Recovery Worker will carry a case load and providescreening, comprehensive assessments, needle exchange, risk assessment andrisk management, recovery planning & review, support access to medicallyassisted recovery (through titration and prescribing regimes), provideoutreach services including home visits, deliver 1-1 key working sessions aswell as semi and structured groups to support families through engagement,detoxification, stabilisation and rehabilitation.Thepost will be required to contribute to the overall aims and objectives ofthe Family Safeguarding Team by compiling data and progress reports asdirected and in line with the Family Safeguarding Workbook.The focus of all interventions will be:* To reduce substance related harm to the individual and their children* To reduce the negative impact on children and families of parental substance use and associated lifestyle factors* To promote healthier life styles and increase family choice* To promote and support parentscarers into both abstinence based and medically assisted forms of recovery* To provide effective case management and coordination of the individual’s treatment plan in support of the children’s CP or CIN Plan.* To promote family members involvement to improve outcomes for childrenThe post holder will be responsible for contributing to the overallperformance of the service to ensure that contractual output targets areachieved and will be required to record and input client data and informationin order that the service operates within contractual, administrative andfinancial requirements.The post holder will be required to work flexibly across operational sites asrequired and within an agreed number of hours to maintain the most appropriatelevel of service provision.### The Ideal CandidateHaving handled a significant caseload in a busy environment as a RecoveryWorker or similar, youll have a deep understanding of substance use and theRecovery Agenda. Its an extremely varied role, so flexibility, a track recordof DANOS compliance and knowledge of relapse and other barriers to recoverywill be vital. Naturally, we also look for Recovery Workers with excellentcommunication skills and, ideally, a vocational qualification, such as an NVQ3 or equivalent.Excellent IT skills with knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook etc. areessential for this role.
