Established over 200 years ago, the ICE is a professional membership body that government and industry listen to while providing support to over 97,000 members worldwide. More than 8,000 of their members are in Scotland.
Key facts
The role
As Regional Director Scotland, you will act as the ICE’s representative, engaging with key stakeholders including the Scottish Government, ICE members, and external partners. You will provide credible policy insights, lead and manage a team of three, and act as a persuasive and collaborative ambassador for the ICE’s goals and values.
As part of a wider team of regional directors across a global footprint you will also sometimes act as the ICE representative on wider UK/international matters.
Key responsibilities include:
Policy engagement: Represent ICE members in policy discussions, particularly on infrastructure challenges. Collaborate with members to ensure a balanced approach to policy advocacy.
Team management: Manage a team of three, comprising a regional co-ordinator, communications lead, and education and inspiration co-ordinator.
Stakeholder relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with ICE members, volunteers, staff, and external stakeholders. Be a trusted and diplomatic point of contact for government and industry representatives.
Public engagement: Represent the ICE in the media, including radio and TV appearances, to promote ICE initiatives, inspire the next generation and influence public discourse. Media training will be provided if required.
Operational oversight: Ensure smooth delivery of key objectives, manage time-sensitive projects, and adapt to the dynamic needs of the role. Collaborate across local, regional, and international levels.
