Our partner is a fast growing, highly- impactful global child-focused development charity. As a result of an expansion of their programmes, they are seeking a senior finance executive to drive the financial and operational set up of their new regional programme in Africa.
Responsibilities
- Lead on establishing a sound control environment, financial processes and systems, ensuring that these align with the organisational as well local regulations.
- Provide financial leadership and strategic advisory support to the country offices and regional team.
- Lead of preparing the individual country budgets, budget monitoring tools, analysis and reports.
- Lead on the full grants cycle management - from due diligence and budget proposal development, to compliance & reporting.
- Lead on capacity building of the finance staff, on all aspects of finance and grants financial management.
- Lead on operations covering procurement, HR & logistics.
Requirements
- Qualified accountant with experience in leading country finance functions of an international charity, and working in a regional capacity.
- Experience in building the controls, processes and systems of young, growing country offices with different budgets, resources and staff capacity.
- Experience in operations within international organisations working in complex, fragile states - covering procurement and logistics.
- Strong demonstrable experience and knowledge of institutional donors, including the UK, European and US governments, and UN agencies.
- Strong interpersonal skills, managerial and influential skills.
- Strong communication skills - written (report writing) and oral.
- Bilingual - English and French speaker.
This post will be based in the DRC, travelling to other countries in the region as required.
Pay: £65,000.00-£75,000.00 per year
