Job Description :

We’re looking for an experienced Registered Manager or Deputy Manager of Children’s Homes to join an established organisation as they open their next Registered Children’s home in Derby.

It’s a blank canvas - the luxurious property is already purchased is just waiting for the right Registered Manager to come in and put their own stamp on the decoration, define their statement of purpose and work with the local authority to identify which children they would best be able to support in the home (they'll accomodate 3 young people once full) . The company have a couple of other successful children’s homes already, ambitious growth plans, and are owned and led by people who truly care about providing supportive environments in which children will thrive. They’ve come from a background in children’s residential, starting from RSW, so they’ll always put the children 1st.

On offer is a salary of £50,000 - £55,000 and the opportunity to really put your own stamp on a service, choose your own team of staff, and deliver a service that is really focused on the outcomes for your young people.

As a Registered Manager you’ll be responsible for;

  • Assessment and evaluation of new referrals and manging a smooth transition into the home
  • Ensuring that Ofsted standards are being met
  • Management of the home’s budget and expenditure
  • Develop quality assurance systems
  • Deliver effective leadership to the staff team, that promotes a positive culture of open practise
  • Ensuring the staff rota is effective

What you’ll need in order to be successful:

  • It is essential that you have experience of working within a children’s home as either a Deputy Manager or a Registered Manager
  • Experience of working with children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties
  • You’ll demonstrate a sound understanding of Ofsted requirements
  • At least 2 years management experience in a relevant children’s setting within the last 5 years.
  • QCF level 5 or equivalent in Leadership and Management for Social care (Children and Young People)
