Our client is a newly established children’s care service dedicated to providing high-quality residential care for children and young people from challenging backgrounds. As the Registered Manager you will play a crucial role in shaping the lives of vulnerable children. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring high standards of care, safety, and well-being for the children, and building a culture that promotes growth, stability, and warmth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the children’s home in accordance with regulatory standards (Ofsted, Children’s Act).
- Lead, manage, and inspire a team of care staff to deliver compassionate, high-quality care tailored to each child’s needs.
- Develop and implement individual care plans that promote the emotional, physical, and social well-being of each child.
- Ensure the home remains a safe and nurturing environment, adhering to all safeguarding protocols and child protection policies.
- Build relationships with external agencies (social services, healthcare professionals, education providers) to ensure comprehensive support for the children.
- Manage budgeting, staffing, and reporting in alignment with organizational goals.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory bodies and prepare for inspections.
Essential Requirements:
- Registered Manager Qualification or equivalent
- Diploma 3/4/5 in Children and Young people or relevant degree in social work
- 2-5 years experience in managing an Ofsted registered children's residential care setting.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and relevant legislation.
- A passion for working with vulnerable children and a commitment to making a positive impact on their lives.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with children, staff, and external partners.
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience in working with children from difficult backgrounds, particularly those with emotional and behavioral difficulties.
- Therapeutic care experience and knowledge of trauma-informed practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively.
