Job Title: Residential Homes Manager - Children's ServicesLocation: Greater Manchester (primarily Oldham and Ashton Under Lyne)Working Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per weekSalary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum________________________________________Overview:A specialist care provider is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Homes Manager to oversee the management of a children's residential home. This role focuses on supporting young people with special educational needs, disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) requirements, and aims to improve the quality of life for children and families in need of high-quality, individualised care.Key Responsibilities:* Residential Home Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of a small, single-occupancy children's residential home, ensuring all standards and regulations are met.* Safeguarding and Compliance: Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, managing safeguarding concerns and adhering to Ofsted standards.* Team Leadership and Development: Provide supervision, training, and performance management for staff, ensuring the team meets all mandatory training requirements.* Child-Focused Support: Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans, advocating for young people's needs and collaborating closely with families, social workers, and other professionals.* Quality Assurance and Reporting: Participate in quality assurance activities, provide regular reports, and maintain clear communication systems across the team.* Collaborative Approach: Build positive relationships with internal teams, external agencies, and the community to foster an environment conducive to the well-being and development of young people in care.Qualifications and Skills:* Required Education: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent.* Experience: A minimum of 5 years in residential childcare and 2 years in a supervisory or management role.* Skills: Strong organisational, interpersonal, and leadership abilities; IT literacy; and an empathetic, non-judgemental approach.* Knowledge: Understanding of safeguarding, care planning, children's home regulations, and therapeutic approaches.Additional Requirements:* Compliance and Standards: Proven ability to meet Ofsted standards, ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for young people.* Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed and to adapt to the unpredictable needs of the role.* Driving: Valid UK driver's license and access to a vehicle with business insurance.Ideal Candidate:An individual who demonstrates resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to high-quality care for children and young people.
