Environment and Release Manager
- Rate: £400 - £430 per day (Outside IR35)
- Contract Length: 6 months (initial)
- Location: Remote (Hybrid for the first few weeks to meet stakeholders and get familiar with the environment in Watford)
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and schedule release windows and cycles across a portfolio.
- Manage risks and resolve issues that impact release scope, timelines, and quality.
- Track and report progress to ensure releases are delivered on time, within budget, and meet expectations.
- Coordinate release efforts based on service request backlogs, third-party applications, and OS updates.
- Communicate project plans, updates, and changes, including requirements, QA plans, timelines, and scope.
- Collaborate with teams across different locations to ensure smooth releases.
- Conduct reviews (Release Readiness, Milestone, Go/No-Go) to ensure everything is on track.
- Create deployment plans, run books, and implementation guides.
- Provide weekly reports on release progress.
- Keep the business informed about release details and schedules.
- Negotiate, plan, and oversee all release-related activities.
- Work closely with engineers to manage impacts from code merges and branches.
- Maintain the release schedule, ensuring alignment with key partners and vendors.
- Drive continuous improvement in the release process.
- Lead Go-Live activities, including executing deployment plans and checklists.
- Develop automation tools and scripts to streamline software builds, integration, and deployment.
- Participate in CAB meetings to discuss release scope and potential blockers.
- Maintain a repository with key release info, including build procedures and notification lists.
- Stay updated on new software development and configuration management techniques, applying them as needed.
