We are currently supporting a Good-rated secondary school in Eastleigh, seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Religious Education or Social Studies Teacher to join their friendly and welcoming team. About the Role As a Religious Education or Social Studies Teacher, you will be part of a dynamic team committed to raising student attainment through engaging and effective lessons. The school offers a positive and collaborative atmosphere, with a focus on maintaining high standards of teaching and student behaviour. You will have the opportunity to teach across different year groups, including KS3 and KS4, and help students develop their knowledge of religious studies, social issues, cultural diversity, and global perspectives.

The successful candidate should have experience teaching Religious Education or Social Studies, though a formally-recognised teaching qualification is desired but not essential if you hold a degree in Religious Education, Social Studies, or a related subject, along with relevant teaching experience. You will be delivering engaging lessons and supporting students in exploring critical issues in society and religion.

About You

  • A degree in Religious Education, Social Studies, or a related field, with teaching experience in a secondary school setting.
  • A formally-recognised teaching qualification is desired, but not essential if you have relevant teaching experience and a degree in RE, Social Studies, or similar.
  • Passionate about your subject and education.
  • Confident in teaching Religious Education or Social Studies across a variety of areas, including ethics, global issues, and religious teachings.
  • Able to inspire and engage students in thought-provoking discussions and activities.
  • A team player who enjoys collaborating with colleagues in the department and throughout the school.
