Remote Cloud Support Engineer - IT Search & Select : Job Details

Our client is a top tier Managed Service Provider with offices in the UK, Europe, US and Australia. Although having a global presence, they still maintain the feel of a small to medium size company. At the the heart of their success is employing the right staff that fit into the environment and tend to stay long term. Due to continued expansion, our client are looking for a Cloud Engineer with 5+ years IT support experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This role is responsible and accountable for:

Gain a deep understanding of how our core applications work and perform troubleshooting, respond to assistance requests, and resolve technical issues.

• Providing (Tier 3) technical support for Linux, Windows servers, cloud infrastructure, and applications.
• Taking ownership of Cloud Services client issues and assigned project tasks.
• Working with team on delivering client projects, with high quality solutions and design documentation, within agreed deadlines.
• Sharing knowledge and skills through training and documentation and contribute to knowledge base.
• Adhering to all published processes and policies.
• Developing new skills and knowledge to meet evolving client requirements.
• Cultivating atmosphere of service improvement.
• Committing to established company goals, safety practices, and deadlines.
• Upholding the company’s core values.
• Provide ooh on-call support as part of a team on-call schedule.

• Ensuring all solutions are securely built and configured to match the documented designs.

• Working to ensure individual profitability is aligned with set targets.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Required Technical Skills and Experience:

• 3-5+ years senior (Tier 3) level application & infrastructure support.
• Strong Experience with Linux Administration, including areas such as: Firewalls, Package Management, System Hardening, Troubleshooting & Software Debugging,
• Experience with Windows Administration, including areas such as Troubleshooting, OS Patching, Performance Monitoring, Service Management.
• Experience supporting applications hosted in Apache Tomcat.
