Job Description :

Paying up to £38k + 35 hour working week + 33 days holiday + bank holidays + predominantly home-based This Manchester-based Housing Association is looking for an experienced Rent Analyst to join them on a 6 month FTC. The role is offering up to £38k and is predominantly home-working with one day a week based in the office. The role is 35 hours per week and the company offers 33 days holiday + Bank Holidays (pro-rata).

THE ROLE

The role is to support the Income Manager to ensure the Income Team maintains full compliance with all relevant fiscal regulatory and statutory requirements in a timely and accurate manner. You will provide statistical analysis for rent charging and rent collection to ensure that all data is accurate and up to date. You will work alongside the Service Charge Finance Business Partner to ensure that rents and service charges are aligned.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure that financial controls are implemented and applied throughout the Group in accordance with the Delegatory framework and that all reporting deadlines are met
  • To provide technical support to the Income Team to ensure compliance with all relevant statutory, regulatory and accounting requirements
  • Develop, grow and maintain effective relationships throughout the Income Team to promote a culture of openness, challenge and financial integrity
  • Develop, plan and implement annual rental change processes for all rented stock owned by the Group
  • Maintain the systems to monitor affordable rent conversions and ensure they are being applied in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain and, where appropriate, identify improvements to systems used to monitor the correct rent value and classification are applied when a property is re-let
  • Provide information to the Senior Finance Business Partner for the preparation of the annual budget by providing accurate and timely rental income estimates
  • Provide technical advice and support to the Team Leader (Income) to ensure fair rents are actioned and reviewed in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Review the process for setting up new properties on to the Housing Management System and the Financial Management System, ensuring that the correct coding is in place and effectively linking between systems
  • Contribute to the annual audit of the statutory accounts by providing the Business Partnering Team with rental information
  • Support the Income Manager in providing statistical data to the business for rent collection and rent charging analysis
  • Perform the agreed balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis in accordance with the month-end timetable for review and sign-off by the Income Manager
  • Perform the monthly reconciliation of rental income within the financial management system to the rental income within the housing management system in accordance with the month-end timetable for review
  • Perform monthly checks to ensure all intercompany Group transactions balance and take any required corrective action

THE CANDIDATE

You will be a part-qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA/CIPFA) or someone that has extensive experience working within finance. You will ideally have experience working within housing or property and have experience with rents but this is not essential. Excellent IT skills are essential, including advanced use of Excel and the ability to analyse large complex data sets to produce reports and deliver information to a range of audiences. You will have a strong commitment to the business and have a professional approach to the role.
