Location: Rochdale Pay Rates: £15.43Type: Full time, 37 hours
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in social care/children or working towards this
- Experience working with children in a residential setting
- Knowledge of learning disabilities and supporting children from disadvantaged backgrounds
- Team teach trained (MAPA/PMVA/CONFLICT RESOLUTION)
Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe environment for children and deescalate any challenging behaviour
- Maintain and foster good relationships with the children
- Assist with moving and handling, and provide personal care if necessary
- To participate in the assessment of each child’s/young person’s needs and regular reviewing individual care plans/programmes.
- To respect and promote the needs of each child/young person arising from his/her racial, cultural and religious background and to attend religious services, cultural festivals where appropriate.
- To ensure the welfare of young people is promoted, that they are protected from abuse and that an appropriate response is made to any allegation or suspicion of abuse or bullying.
- Sleep shifts where necessary, some evenings and weekends required
- To work in accordance with the Authority’s Policy relating to the promotion of Equality and Diversity.
