Teqniq is searching for a Residential Social Care Worker to work in the public sector.

37 hours per week.

3 month contract.

14:00-22:00

Job Description:

Three bedded children's home. Required- Right to work documents, 2 x ID (1 photo ID), 1 x utility bill within the last 3 months, proof of address, Enhanced DBS. Full work history given. DBS from birth county if born out of UK. 2 x references, 1 from previous employer. Required to drive. Rota - Two shift patterns 7.30 am - 3.00pm 2.00pm - 10pm All staff will need to complete an induction before lone working can commence with children. We prefer to use regular workers to enable relationship building with children.

1. To offer young people a high standard of physical and emotional care, involving supporting with education, life skills and health needs, including mental health support as part of the Corporate Parenting role.

2. To take on shift-leading responsibilities as and when required.

3. To adopt a strengths-based approach to their work with children, young people, colleagues, and outside agencies.

4. To provide a high standard of care to children and young people which is efficiently and effectively delivered within organisational policy and statutory requirements.

5. To provide care within an environment that positively integrates race, culture, gender, disability and sexual orientation.

6. To ensure that managers are informed of significant matters arising in connection with the Home, including areas that are a requirement under the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and/or in the best interests of the children and young people under your care.

7. To represent the home professionally in a range of internal and external forums.

8. To maintain a current knowledge of legislation, practice issues and developments locally and nationally in their field of work.

9. To work positively, and in an enabling way, with children and young people with challenging behaviour, to affect change and positive outcomes and ensure that children and young people have access to representation and complaints procedure.
