Job Description :

Part of the Stonewater Group, Mount Green Housing Association meets people’s housing needs across Surrey and North Sussex through the delivery of a local service to its residents.

Here at Mount Green, we are now seeking a Surveying Manager to lead, manage and motivate a team of generic, yet multi-disciplined surveyors, to deliver a comprehensive service to tenant and leasehold residents. You will be responsible for managing the surveying function, ensuring effective resource planning and allocation to ensure adequate resources are in place to deliver programmes effectively.

Role purpose:

To provide resident-centric professional building surveyor activities, defect diagnosis and specify remedial works and act as point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, as well as providing high levels of technical support to the team.

This is a great opportunity for someone that's been in a Senior Repairs Officer role (seasoned or considerable time served) and are now looking to set up into Managerial Level. Alternatively, you could already be a seasoned Repairs Manager with big focus on attitude and resilience through a period of change.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be educated to HNC level (minimum) or equivalent professional qualification/experience.
  • Have appropriate surveying qualifications/relevant qualification in line with progression framework
  • Have excellent knowledge of social housing repairs and maintenance, construction methods and building regulations
  • Have experience of leading teams, and planning work schedules including the deployment of appropriate resources
  • Strong knowledge & experience of landlord responsibilities, construction & housing health and safety.
  • Have financial aware and/or budget management experience.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), customer service, influencing and engagement skills and an ability to be resilient when required
  • Excellent IT and data analytical skills, including the ability to analyse data and market trends.
  • Ideally be a member of RICS or CIOB

You are required to have access to your own vehicle insured for business purposes, with a full UK driving licence. Additionally, this role is well-suited to be part of our out-of-hours 'response’ team who work on a rota-basis.
