Retail Catering Butcher - Severn Valley Foodservice : Job Details

Looking for a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment?

We’re seeking an experienced and knowledgeable butcher to join our Butchery / Mincing department and Retail shop.  Where you’ll play a key role in ensuring orders are prepared, packed, and delivered on time.  The role will be split across both our production facility and retail shop.

What you will do

Typical duties will vary according to the specific customer orders but may include the following.

• Cutting and butchering of products to pre-set standards.
• Working as part of a team to meet production targets.
• Identifying errors/faults and taking appropriate steps to rectify these.
• Ensuring hygiene and cleanliness procedures are always followed (e.g. hand washing, knife sterilising and kit wash-down).
• Greeting and serving customers.
• Assisting customers with their purchases and providing product knowledge.
• Preparation of counter (deli) and pre-pack areas.
• Stock rotation.

About You

• Previous experience in retail butchery.
• Proven customer service excellence.
• Support to train and upskill the current team.
• Deadline focused.
• Attention to detail/ good observational skills.
• Strong communicator.
• Self-motivated and reliability.
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to change, occasionally at short notice.
• The ability to work on own initiative.
• Organised and driven with a 'can do', flexible and helpful attitude.
