I am partnered with an exceptional City based law firm in their search for a Revenue Controller to join their London team. The role reports into an experienced revenue manager and is an excellent to join an experienced team.
Day Duties of the role:
- Regularly renew client rate agreements, aligning them with the Firm's standard rates.
- Take full ownership of working capital management for the designated Practice Group and key individuals.
- Ensure budget lock-up cycles are achieved and maintained.
- Monitor eBilling and collections, reporting any issues to the Billing Manager.
- Provide monthly WIP forecasts to senior management, analysing them against the firm's budget.
- Support the RC Manager and US with inventory management and key exposures across all practice areas in EME.
- Present financial information to the Practice Group(s), accurately educating fee earners to enhance the group's financial performance.
- Actively review prior approvals of write-downs, write-offs, and discounts.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients.
- Take responsibility for the active management of accounts, including administration, analysis, chasing, reporting, and service delivery coordination.
- Ensure the Practice Group(s) meet monthly, quarterly, and annual billing and collections targets.
- Liaise with Secretaries, Billers, and Collectors to facilitate the billing and collections process, ensuring quality control and workload balance.
- Regularly meet with Partners to proactively assess WIP and AR status.
- Action requests from Partners for information and analysis.
- Analyse new and existing rate and billing agreements to optimise realisation.
The ideal candidate will:
- Remain calm and efficient under pressure.
- Possess skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, advanced Excel, and e-billing systems (3E is a plus).
- Demonstrate flexibility, reliability, and the ability to take initiative.
- Approach daily tasks positively with a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Have experience in a high-paced corporate setting.
- Be highly organised with exceptional accuracy and the ability to manage conflicting priorities.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Have at least five years' experience in a revenue role within a professional services environment, ideally a law firm.
- Be able to foster strong working relationships.
- Quickly build confidence, respect, and trust with colleagues.
- Be knowledgeable in advising on system functionality and transactions.
- Work proactively as part of a team to ensure efficient use of firm-wide resources to meet tight deadlines.
- Advise the business on compliance with GAAP, VAT legislation, Solicitors Accounts Rules, and Money Laundering regulations.
