Job Description

The Risk and Capital Analyst is responsible for supporting the Head of Risk & Capital on capital modelling; solvency capital requirements; risk analytics; and also in providing second line oversight of financial risks.

What will my role entail?

Supporting the Head of Risk & Capital and Risk and Capital Managers on:

Assessing Solvency requirements:

  • Calculating the SCR under standard formula

Capital Modelling:

  • Developing and updating the capital model
  • Assisting in providing output from the capital model for uses within the business

The Own Risk & Solvency Assessment (ORSA) process, including:

  • Stress Testing and Scenario Analysis
  • Risk Appetite, including collating data and reviewing trends
  • Emerging Risks
  • Annual and ad-hoc reporting to Board level committees

Technical Risk Analytics:

  • Supporting on regular and ad-hoc analysis to assist the business on risk v reward and capital related decisions
  • PRA regulatory tracking and analysis

2nd Line of Defence risk oversight and challenge of a technical nature for financial functions.

Ad hoc support to the Head of Risk & Capital on other areas that the team have responsibility for.

Qualifications

You are a good fit for the role if you have the following…

  • Capital modelling or coding experience
  • Strong analytical ability and attention to detail
  • Ability to analyse large amounts of data and create succinct reports
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong Financial Acumen
  • Ability to analyse large amounts of data and create succinct reports
  • Demonstrable ability in relationship building and robust oversight and challenge of the the 1st line

  • Experience in an actuarial or statistical role
  • Solvency II and ORSA experience
  • Understanding of risk quantification methodologies and tools
  • Organised and methodological
  • A curious and questioning mind
  • Agile experience
