On behalf of NatWest, we are looking for a Risk & Controls Manager - Financial Services for a contract until the end of 2025 based in London.

Join us as a Risk & Controls Manager - Financial Services:

This role will act as a Risk and Controls SME supporting the Behaviour & Capabilities (B&C) workstream in the NFR Enhancements Programme. If you possess a background in driving learning and transformation within Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Management, we invite you to join our team to enhance Behaviours & Capability (B&C) as part of our NFR Enhancement Programme. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and delivering B&C interventions and facilitating the integration of NFR changes. Your comprehensive understanding of the NFR framework should encompass some or all of the following areas: Risk and Controls Self Assessments (RCSAs), Controls Evolution, Risk Events, Issues & Actions Management, Scenarios Management, and Risk Reporting. Your expertise will be essential in providing subject matter expert (SME) input for Capability enhancements. This role requires a high level of collaboration, as you will engage with the risk and controls community across the three lines of defence.What you'll do:

  • Designing and embedding B&C learning interventions in line with the B&C workstream objectives and plan.
  • Educating teams on the NFR framework and our obligations, supporting the business and functions in operating and embedding them.
  • Coaching and supporting colleagues across the bank to embed a proactive risk culture.
  • Supporting the delivery of enhancements to the current state controls environment in line with the control enhancement workstream objectives and plan.
  • Designing and delivering learning to support the NFR programme workstreams desired outcomes.
  • Analysing risk reports and metrics to inform B&C plans and decision making.
  • Supporting and regularly engaging with relevant stakeholders across the three lines of defence.
  • Other activities as required by Capability Lead.

The skills you'll need:

  • A leader with experience of applying risk and control management in an operational and strategic context.
  • Strong knowledge of risk and controls assessment analysis and methodologies.
  • Audit or assurance of risk management and controls framework.
  • Excellent communication skills to support the team, as well as being able to negotiate with, and influence, stakeholders across the organisation.
