The Role

Are you experienced in oil, gas, refining or petrochemical operations? Do you have a background in asset integrity, operational process safety, or technical support within the energy sector? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

As an Insurance Risk Engineer - Oil, Refining & Petrochemicals, you will join a leading team in the Energy, Chemicals, and Petroleum insurance sectors. You will be based in our rapidly growing London hub, supporting clients across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

The role offers an exciting opportunity to travel, with 70 to 80 days annually visiting client sites across the EMEA region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting physical condition surveys of client assets.
  • Describing processes and their key control features.
  • Producing building and plant loss/replacement estimates.
  • Conducting training and benchmarking exercises.
  • Performing desktop risk assessments and mitigation exercises.
  • Supporting the insurance placement process by reducing or eliminating process safety incidents.
  • Train and support clients in risk management and safety practices.
  • Ensure consistent quality and compliance with industry standards.

Our client is a world leader in the Energy, Chemicals and Petroleum insurance sectors providing risk engineering services across the globe, for clients in all COMAH sectors, from oil & gas production, through refining and downstream petrochemicals. The business is looking to recruit an additional senior engineer to work in its fast growing and well-established London hub supporting EMEA.

The Person

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has substantial experience in oil, gas, LNG, refining, or petrochemical operations.
  • Holds a degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Is willing to travel extensively within the EMEA region.
  • Has strong communication skills and a client-focused approach.
  • Enjoys a varied role and working in a dynamic environment.

Salary : 70000 - 100000
