Our client are Ofsted grade 2 and have 5,500+ active apprentices on program have been working in training for 30 years.Role: Safeguarding & Welfare OfficerReports to: Safeguarding ManagerLocation: Hybrid working - each week is different, but an average week would be 3 days working from home and 2 days working in either of my clients two sites in Central & Southern EnglandSalary: £42,000-£44,000Job Description Key Tasks and responsibilities:
- Take the lead in contract on all safeguarding issues concerning children, young people and vulnerable adults who are enrolled on the apprenticeship programme.
- Respond to concerns raised appropriately, timely whilst adhering to policies, procedures and administrative systems.
- Be the Key Point of Contact (KPOC) within the contract for safeguarding and prevent by working in partnership with the DSL and external agencies for additional support and referrals where required.
- Report regularly to the contract leadership team and customer, to ensure that the safety and wellbeing of all learners is seen as a priority
KPI’s/Key Deliverables:
- Raising the standards of 'Safeguarding’ practice through employee training and monitoring.
- Create and present accurate safeguarding data to internal and external stakeholders ensuring data and reports are robust.
- Carry out safeguarding reviews with programme management team.
- Develop a positive culture of safeguarding and wellbeing for learners, customers, employers and employees
- Compliance at Internal and external quality audits
- Be proactive in promoting a range of welfare topics to apprentices through a range of activities

Key Technical Skills:
- Significant experience in the field of safeguarding within a secondary or post-16 environment, including the development and / or implementation of policies, processes and guidelines in a complex, diverse organisation.
- Working knowledge of child protection frameworks to protect children from harm and experience of working with multi agency partners to ensure wellbeing.
- Demonstrable experience in working to prevent exploitation and abuse of children and vulnerable adults alongside the Prevent Strategy and British Values.
- Experience of solving complex issues working collaboratively with key decision makers to ensure organisational buy-in.
