gap personnel Exeter are recruiting for a Sail Maker Mate on a fixed term contract for our client based at Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth, Devon.

You will be joining a leading company that provides Engineering Services to the Defence, Security, Nuclear and Emergency Services.

As a Sail Maker Mate you will be required to manufacture protective weather screens and covers. This is a safety critical role and successful candidates would need to be prepared to work shifts, and overtime to support the business needs.

About you:

• Background in Textiles or Fabrics (desirable not essential)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Qualifications in both English and Maths
• Ability to work in a team and use own intitiative
• Willingness to work at height or in confined spaces
• Previous experience in Boating or Dockyards is beneficial

Pay & Hours:

• £16.44ph, paid weekly
• Monday to Thursday (0730am - 1530pm) & Friday 0730am - 1230pm, 35hours per week.
