The Apprenticeship programme will be a Level 4 Sales Executive Programme with a marketing leading sales trainers. This course would not be suitable for someone who already has substantial sales and sales account management.
Study is 6 hours per week in work time, but the successful candidate may need to be prepared to do some work in their own time to complete assessment.
This is a permanent role, the apprenticeship itself would be between 12-18 months depending on how the course work goes.

Office based: 8.30am - 5.00pm Mon to Fri 37.5 hrs a week
About the Role
The Sales Apprentice is an exciting entry level position to build a career in technical, consultative sales. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced sales professionals who will coach you in your sales skills, product and industry knowledge, as well as developing your skill by completing a Level 4 Sales Apprenticeship.
You will be given full product and technical training, to give you the confidence to provide customers with key account management service and consultative technical sales. In return they ask for your enthusiasm to learn and immerse yourself in the industry and products. The responsibilities include:
- Communicate with UK customers on a day-to-day basis regarding enquiries and customer order queries
- Manage existing customer accounts and proactively develop new business
- Work towards personal and team monthly sales targets
- Call prospects and generate own customer base
- Ensure that customers are quoted, and orders processed in a timely manner
- Build relationships with your customers to establish yourself as their main contact
- Supporting the wider sales team in quoting customers
- Advise customers of forthcoming product developments and special promotions
- Maintaining clear customer records on a computer system
- Liaise with suppliers and freight companies
- Liaising with other departments within the organisation to ensure orders are processed and delivered on time
- General administration duties as requested by your manager
- You may be asked to assist in trade exhibitions and events
- Dedicate time and effort to the set tasks and assessments required to successfully complete your apprenticeship qualification, coordinating study time in work with your line manager
- Adhere to all health and saftey guidelines, including wearing appropriate protective equipment and following safe working practices, notifying senior managers of any hazards you identify
About You
The Sales Apprentice will be an enthusiastic and driven individual who is keen to start a career in sales.

- Eager to learn and achieve high standards
- Some previous experience in a customer facing role would be beneficial
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Good IT literacy and experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Work and Outlook)
- Reliable and committed work ethic
- Excellent attention to detail and comfortable working with numbers
- Assertive and unafraid to ask questions to support own learning
- Organised and ability to self-manage studies alongside work
- Enjoys working as part of a team
- Prepared to commit your own time for study outside of business hours to further your career
Course Entry Criteria:
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths
- Right to work in the UK
- This course would not be suitable for someone who already has substantial sales and sales account management work experience
