About the role:

Drax Energy Services is a consultative energy and decarbonisation partner for its customers. As part of this commitment, the business is delivering a range of market, policy and regulatory insights and thought pieces. This will enhance the company’s brand, reputation and standing in the market.

As a Market Analyst you’ll support the Sales Energy Market Lead in market analytics and content creation/ delivery, including authoring regular articles on market events, social media posts, and webinars. You’ll take your strong industry knowledge and combine it with market trends to drive production of thought leading publications on subjects such as Third-Party Costs, Power Purchase Agreements (PPA’s), Demand-Side Response (DSR) and other policy, regulatory and commercial commentary from the market.

You’ll lead the delivery of content on flexible revenue streams such as wholesale, balancing mechanism, and ancillary services, and conduct regular reviews of the market to apply and deliver associated recurring market analysis.

You’ll provide evidence-based recommendations to support strategic objectives and contribute ideas and deliver market publications and thought leadership.

You’ll support impact analysis for future regulatory changes on our products and solutions and lead evaluation and understanding of external events and information whilst prioritising events/news coverage and proactively developing a plan for successful delivery.

Who we’re looking for:

To be successful in this role you’ll need to have

•                 A strong understanding of, and extensive previous experience in, analysing the energy market, energy policy and/ or energy regulation

•                 Excellent analytical and written and verbal communication skills

•                 Excellent attention to detail

•                 Ability to build and maintain relationships across the team and wider business

•                 The ability to quickly switch tasks and reprioritise based on business requirements and market events

•                 Advantageous: Knowledge of and experience analysing the revenue streams for flexible assets, including wholesale, balancing mechanism, and ancillary service revenues
