Sales Ledger Controller

Southend-on-Sea, Essex

£30,000 - £33,000

9am to 5pm – hybrid working available once probation period has passed (2 days from home and 3 days office based).

Our client is a fast-growing printers seeking an experienced Sales Ledger Controller to join their finance department.

You must have at least 5 years UK based Accounting experience to be considered for this role.

The ideal candidate will

• Have a solid Accounting background
• Have managed or supervised a team
• Have good working knowledge of Sage and Excel
• Have strong administration skills
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

You will be responsible for

• The day to day running of the sales ledger function
• Answering client calls and emails in a timely manner
• Supervising a small team within Accounts
• Overseeing the client payment process
• Managing daily and monthly reconciliations
• Taking payments over the phone
• Supporting with month end administration
• Being the primary point of contact for clients to build and maintain strong relationships
• Supporting the wider team with ad-hoc administration tasks

Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in an accounting role
• Have a solid background in administration
• Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Sage
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities to priorities tasks and meet deadlines
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a team
