An experienced Sales Manager with travel industry experience, ideally in the Italian market, is needed to join the team at this leading British travel company based in London on a full-time, contractual basis. This role is a 9-month fixed-term contract for maternity cover.

As a driven sales professional and travel enthusiast, you will work directly with hotel suppliers across Italy, negotiating contracts with them to ensure the company has an exciting and varied portfolio that inspires their members to escape in style.

About the Company

The company operates a flexible working policy. They are all in the office one day a week (minimum) and have core hours of 10 am - 4 pm (you can make up the other hours to suit you). In keeping with being an inspirational travel brand, they also have a 'Work from Anywhere’ policy, so you can work from anywhere in the world for up to a month each year!

About the Role

As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for negotiating and improving offers across your designated region. By securing the best deals for their customers, you aim to drive the company's commercial growth.

This role can be based in their London, Berlin, or Amsterdam offices. However, the selected candidate must be able to travel when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building relationships with a diverse remit of hotels in the region, from country hotels and spas to chic boutique city hotels, as well as beach resorts and self-catering apartments
  • Developing your portfolio of hotels and products to create a diverse pool across the Italian region and negotiating the best hotel deals to inspire their worldwide members to travel
  • Driving the commercial growth of your region by building strong relationships with decision-makers in the supply chain
  • Managing all elements of the contracting process, from target identification and initial contact right through to pricing, contract agreement, allocation management and ongoing account management
  • Reporting, evaluating and implementing suitable sales measures to optimise performance and growth
  • Closely collaborating with other departments - particularly with Operations, Sales Steering & Revenue, Customer Service
  • Be an expert in your destination, generating new leads and researching the competitive landscape of the tourism trends of your region
  • Attend trade shows and networking events in the travel industry that will result in positive returns of increased business and learning

Required Experience:

  • Excellent sales/business development skills, with experience within the travel industry, ideally in Italy
  • Experience in building strategic partnerships with hotels in the Italian market is essential
  • A target-driven mindset with experience in working towards and achieving monthly targets
  • Previous flash sale experience and knowledge of Salesforce a bonus

Required Skills:

  • Committed to your work and an entrepreneurial 'can do’ approach to business
  • Good knowledge of hotel revenue management and the travel market
  • A strong negotiator - able to close deals
  • Analytical and have a commercial mindset
  • Proven administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Commercial astute with high numeracy and analytical skills
  • Fluent in Italian and English
  • Able to work in a dynamic environment and are solutions-focused
  • Able to work independently to grow your region
