Location:  North-West, predominantly Greater Manchester

Salary: £35,000 per annum (no commission)

Job Type: Permanent

Working Schedule: 7 hours a day + 1 hour lunch – can choose your working day times and lengths, as long as these hours are hit by the end of the week and results are being shown!

Please note, the company is based in London and therefore your role will be a remote field sales representative. The goal of your role is to be face-to-face with your customer base.

We are very excited to be recruiting for a Sales Development Manager to cover the Manchester/North-West region for an industry leader in the transport and logistics industry!

Our client is a 135-year-old business, whose roots began with the goal of supporting the bus industry with essential benefits, such as health cover. Fast-forward to present day, they have a huge 21,000 customer members in the South of England and £75million in company assets.

Now due to exciting growth opportunities, our client is searching for a dedicated Northern based sales representative to join their team.  

The product that you will be selling is a membership, and all the sales will be face-to-face and directly with customers. However, the product genuinely is a benefit to your target demographic, so if you’re looking to go home feeling like you’ve made a positive difference every day, then this could be the role for you.

You will be tasked with seeking new business opportunities in order to expand the reach in the North. There will be an expectation to be out selling the product to new customers, with a requirement to travel down to the London headquarters once every 3 months (travel costs will be reimbursed) to meet with the team. Mainly, the location will be in-and around Manchester, however if business opportunities do begin to arise around the North-West, then you will also be expected to travel to capitalise on this!

Given that the business is new to the North with no direct competitors up here, there is an enormous amount of opportunity for you to generate new business growth and hit the ground running quickly. Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and Pursue New Opportunities: Actively seek out new business opportunities in designated geographical areas and firms.
  • Recruit New Members: Engage and recruit new members to the society within new and existing clients’ premises.
  • Support Sales & Development Team: Assist colleagues in recruitment, training, and motivating the Society’s Registered Introducers.

Requirements:

  • Sales Experience: Strong background in sales with a proven ability to bring in new business.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in the insurance and/or transport industry is advantageous.
  • Professionalism: Highly professional with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach.
  • Presentation Skills: Comfortable presenting and pitching at all levels, representing the business effectively.
  • Track Record: Demonstrable success in achieving agreed targets in a direct sales role.
