Salary: Up to £38,000 plus commission up to 12k additional earnings on top
Hours:- Mon - Thurs 08:30 - 17:00 & Fri 08:30 - 16:00
Reporting directly to the General Sales Manager, the Sales Representative’s principal job responsibility will be to assist with the efficient and profitable operation of our client’s product ranges in the South UK region, working with OEM’s, tiered suppliers, and established distributor networks.
The role:
- Effectively manage and support an assigned customer base consisting of Mechanical Contractors, Engineers, Buyers, Planners
- Maintain and increase the volume of product sales revenue with both existing and prospective customers.
- Work with and expand the current prospect database within specified business sectors to generate effective leads & exceed sales targets for the business.
- Research and approach suitable OEM opportunities relating to the companies’ range of products.
- Continually review distributor/dealer performance to ensure the territory achieves the required level of sales to support the overall sales budget.
- Develop and implement operational/strategic plans to ensure territory growth and profit objectives are achieved.
- Undertake cold calling exercises to assist in sales pipeline growth.
- Conduct regular area reviews via phone, video conferencing and face to face visits with all customers.
- Establish, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with other Group departments.
- Monitor, record, analyse and report on activity, trends, results, and recommendations relating to sales activities.
- Provide sales forecasts and reports detailing activity via the Intranet database.
- Prepare and submit relevant information in a timely and accurate manner.
The successful candidate:
- Proven experience within one or more of the following industry sectors is preferred: -
- Industrial Products
- Manufacturing
- OEM Sales
- Distributor / Reseller Sales
- Experience of managing a sales budget, KPIs and strategy planning.
- Experience of selling to end users, OEM’s & local / national distributors.
- Previous experience working within a similar role.
- Good commercial / industrial knowledge.
- Prospecting, closing and growing business accounts.
- Ability to meet deadlines with efficient time and workload management skills.
- Technically minded.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Service driven with first class customer service skills.
- Excellent communication (both written & verbal) / interpersonal skills to interact successfully at all levels.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Excellent Computer skills, with experience using the full Microsoft Office package.
