School Administrator

We are seeking a proactive and dedicated School Administrator to join our vibrant SEND school community. As an active member of the administration team, you will carry out a range of administrative and reception duties to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school. This role is pivotal in maintaining a welcoming and efficient environment for all visitors and members of the school community.
Day to Day of the role:
- Maintaining the schools Management Information System (MIS)
- Provide general administrative support including typing, photocopying, filing, scanning, and handling routine correspondence.
- Maintain the school’s office email inbox, dealing with queries and forwarding messages as appropriate.
- To be part of the Administration team as one of the first points of contact for the school: welcoming visitors and responding to telephone and email enquiries in a helpful and constructive manner
- Providing Exams Administration
- Keep the school website and parent calendar up to date with all necessary information.
- Manage room bookings and handle post and deliveries.
- Liaise with supply agencies, book supply staff, and maintain the Single Central Record.
- Create and distribute messages to parents/carers and produce a fortnightly newsletter.
- Welcome visitors, manage phone calls, and maintain the reception area.
- Administer first aid and manage medical requirements for pupils, including maintaining medical records.
- Support the school’s welfare and safeguarding policies, ensuring all concerns are recorded and escalated appropriately.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must have excellent computer skills - Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and ability to use a range of databases.
- Good level of literacy and numeracy (at least 5 GCSEs above C to include English and Maths or the equivalent).
- Demonstrable experience of working in administrative roles or experience of working within a school environment.
- Good organisational skills, ability to work accurately with attention to detail.
- Able to manage own time to deal with multiple tasks
- High levels of interpersonal ability, with excellent written and verbal communication
