We are inviting a dedicated and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join our forward-thinking academy. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering high-quality science education, fostering curiosity, and nurturing a passion for the sciences among students. This post will be teaching years 7-10 and planning and marking would be desirable, but not essential. This will be reflected in the pay rate.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Design and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with the national curriculum to students of varying abilities.
- Utilise a range of teaching methods and technological tools to facilitate active learning experiences.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and tailored support.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to enhance student understanding and retention of scientific concepts.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and coordinate science projects, experiments, and field trips that complement classroom learning.
- Participate in departmental meetings, professional development sessions, and contribute to the wider school community.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A degree in Science or a related subject.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
- Experience teaching science at the secondary level.
- Strong understanding of the current curriculum and assessment frameworks.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and a proactive approach to learning.
