Science Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in Bristol. This is a longterm starting as soon as possible and running until Christmas. The ideal candidate will be passionate about science and education, ready to inspire young minds and contribute positively to the school community. The timetable will be 70% Science lessons and 30% general cover. Planning has been done and resources prepared but will involve marking Mainly KS3 with some KS4.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Delivering engaging science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the ability to cover Key Stage 5 being advantageous.
- Preparing lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments in line with curriculum objectives.
- Providing a safe and stimulating environment that facilitates learning.
- Monitoring and encouraging the progress of individual students.
- Assessing and recording students’ progress and preparing them for examinations.
- Being proactive in maintaining discipline in accordance with the school’s procedures.
- Collaborating with departmental colleagues and participating in regular meetings.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A recognised teaching qualification in Science (e.g., PGCE, BEd or equivalent).
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willing to undergo checks).
- Strong knowledge of the UK secondary science curriculum.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a classroom and implement discipline as needed.
- A passion for Science and teaching with the ability to engage and inspire students.
