We are seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to join our team on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave from January 2025 to July 2025. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic educator who is passionate about science and committed to delivering high-quality teaching to students.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging science lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring alignment with the national curriculum.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and tailored support to facilitate improvement and learning outcomes.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that encourages curiosity and active participation in science.
- Utilise a variety of teaching methods and educational tools to accommodate different learning styles and needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop science curriculum materials and participate in departmental meetings and school training events.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and potential areas for improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience in teaching science at secondary school level.
- Strong understanding of the science curriculum and current educational practices.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire students in the subject matter.
- Commitment to professional development and maintaining high teaching standards.
