As a Science Technician, you will undertake a range of crucial responsibilities, which include, but are not limited to:
Preparing and arranging laboratory equipment and materials for practical-based lessons, ensuring that all necessary resources are readily available to support the teaching and learning process.
Managing and procuring laboratory supplies and equipment, ensuring that stock levels are maintained, and necessary orders are placed in a timely manner. This involves liaising with suppliers and keeping track of inventory.
Assisting teachers in the prepping of science practical's by setting up demonstrations, experiments, and practical activities. You will work closely with the teaching staff to ensure that all necessary materials and equipment are prepared and in proper working condition.
Supervising students during practical sessions, providing guidance and support to ensure their safety and proper understanding of scientific procedures. You will create a conducive learning environment and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Maintaining the laboratory equipment and facilities, performing regular checks, and arranging for repairs or replacements when necessary. It is essential to uphold high standards of cleanliness, organization, and safety within the laboratory.
