Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Scrub Nurse/Theatre Coordinator to join a dynamic team in a cosmetic surgery and aesthetic clinic setting. This role combines hands-on clinical work with administrative responsibilities, offering a challenging position that ensures high standards of patient care and efficient theatre operations.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties (50%)
- Scrub for a variety of cosmetic and aesthetic procedures.
- Ensure a safe, efficient, and effective perioperative service for patients and consultants.
- Maintain high standards of patient care and safety in the operating theatre.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating theatre environment.
- Adhere to infection control and sterilisation protocols.
Coordination Duties (50%)
- Organise theatre schedules and manage bookings for surgeries.
- Handle patient administration, including pre- and post-operative care coordination.
- Liaise with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth running of theatre lists.
- Manage theatre resources effectively, including equipment and consumables.
- Coordinate staffing levels and skill mix to meet patient needs and changing workloads.
Qualifications and Experience
- Registration with NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) or HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council).
- Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience in operating theatres.
- Proven experience in scrub nursing for cosmetic and aesthetic procedures.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Experience in theatre coordination and administrative duties.
