Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant – Tower Hamlets - Immediately/January Start

Are you a recent Graduate in Psychology, Criminology or Sociology

Do you have experience supporting and working with ASD and Challenging Behaviour

You could be working within an Ofsted Good Rated Secondary School in Tower Hamlets. The school are looking for the next generation of educators to work alongside students with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and PTSD, alongside other mental needs.

The school have taken on two students for the next academic year who show challenging behaviour and have a diagnosis of ASD. The students are preverbal and are known to be light on their feet, so the school would welcome someone from a sports background that can get the students moving and find innovative ways to get them involved in the school day.

This role is perfect for any Graduates looking to gain experience working alongside ASD and Mental Health and who are looking to go onto a career within Psychology.

Job Description – SEN Teaching Assistant – Tower Hamlets

· Mentoring behaviour and working closely with ASD and different SEN.

· Long-term and permanent contracts available.

· £95-110 per day Umbrella.

· Working with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and PTSD. .

Requirements

  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE or equivalent) is essential.
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting is required; experience in special education is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with students and parents.
  • A genuine passion for educating young people and supporting their individual learning needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating initiative in lesson planning and classroom management.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by students with autism or other special educational needs is advantageous.
