Security Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy cloud security architectures that meet business, security, and compliance requirements.
• Ensure secure cloud tools and mobile technologies for safe access.
• Establish and maintain environments for security solution testing.
• Enhance security measures for both on-premise and cloud settings.
• Oversee cloud network security, including firewall management.
• Create scripts for security automation.
• Lead and plan strategies for responding to cyber threats.
• Implement robust authentication, authorization, and encryption methods.
• Stay informed about the latest security trends and threats.
• Manage security for cloud changes and software deployments.
• Document and enforce security protocols and procedures.
• Update and disseminate information on data protection techniques.
• Create metrics on cloud security status.
• Provide guidance and support to junior team members.
• Maintain and support security tools and systems.
• Ensure adherence to regulations such as NY State, PCI, GDPR, and NIST.

Essential Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years in cyber security with relevant industry certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field focused on Cyber Security or Digital Forensics.
• Security+ or an equivalent industry-recognized certification

Preferred Certifications

• ITIL (preferred)
• CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional)
• CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
• CCSK (Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge)
• ISSEP (Information Systems Security Engineering Professional)
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
