As an SEMH HLTA, You Will:
- Provide tailored support for students with SEMH needs, fostering their emotional well-being and academic progress.
- Work closely with teachers to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) that address the unique needs of each student.
- Lead small group or one-on-one interventions, using positive behavior management strategies to support students' learning and personal development.
- Assist in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive emotionally and academically.
- Collaborate with external agencies and professionals to provide holistic support to students.
- Support students with transitions and promote strategies that help them manage emotions and behavior effectively.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience working with students with SEMH needs in an educational setting.
- A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting young people with emotional and behavioural challenges.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and techniques.
- Knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice and safeguarding procedures.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., HLTA qualification, Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning, or an equivalent SEN-related qualification).
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills, with a passion for creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
