What You'll Do:

  • Provide Tailored Support: Work with students on a 1:1 or 1:2 basis to provide individualised support, helping them with their learning, emotional needs, and social skills.
  • Foster Positive Relationships: Build strong bonds with students, creating a safe and nurturing environment where they can thrive.
  • Contribute to a Unique Learning Environment: Help implement creative and engaging activities that cater to diverse learning styles and interests, fostering a love of learning and discovery.
  • Work Collaboratively: Collaborate with teachers and other specialists to ensure that every student's needs are met effectively.

What You'll Need:

  • Experience Working with SEMH: Experience working with children and young people with emotional and behavioral challenges, ideally in a secondary school setting.
  • Resilience and Patience: You understand that working in a challenging SEMH environment requires dedication, empathy, and a willingness to persevere.
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: You can build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, and you can effectively communicate with those with diverse needs.
  • A Positive and Enthusiastic Attitude: You are adaptable, able to work effectively as part of a team, and committed to providing a positive learning experience for all students.
  • A Commitment to Safeguarding: You are dedicated to promoting the well-being and safety of all children.
  • Physical Fitness: The school's location and the needs of some students may require physical fitness for support during challenging situations.
  • Driving License (desirable): A driving license is desirable due to the location of the school.
