Job Title: Semi Senior Accountant

Location: WirralSalary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum + Bonus + Full Study Support

About the Role:

We are recruiting for a proactive and experienced Semi Senior Accountant to join a fast-growing accountancy firm on the Wirral. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is part-qualified (ACA/ACCA/AAT) and looking to further develop their career in a dynamic environment, working with a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from SMEs to larger corporations.

As a Semi Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the senior team in preparing accounts, tax returns, and other financial statements. You'll also assist with audits, offering a blend of compliance and advisory services to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of statutory accounts for a wide range of clients, including limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships.
• Preparation of personal and corporation tax returns.
• Assisting with audit fieldwork and supporting senior auditors on larger audit assignments.
• Handling VAT returns and management accounts preparation.
• Liaising with clients and managing day-to-day queries, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.
• Working closely with senior staff to ensure deadlines and objectives are met.
• Identifying opportunities to provide added value to clients, including advisory work.

What We're Looking For:

• Part-qualified ACA/ACCA/AAT or qualified by experience.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in an accountancy practice environment.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, tax, and auditing standards.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
