Position: SEN Behavioral Support Teaching AssistantLocation: Meldreth, Nr Royston, Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire border Hourly Rate: £11.72 - £12.78 per hourAnnual Salary: £20,941.30 - £22,835.30 (Term-Time Only)Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week, term-time only

About the Role

As a Behavioral Support Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in assisting students aged 5-19, who have social, emotional struggles, profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs. Collaborating closely with our experienced teaching team, you will provide vital academic and vocational support, empowering students to thrive in their educational and personal development. Whether in the classroom, engaging in outdoor Bushcraft activities, or participating in life skills sessions, your contributions will have a significant and lasting impact on their lives.

In this role, you will provide essential support in a highly specialised learning environment, helping students to manage sensory overload, anxiety, and transitions while working towards their personal and educational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to students in their learning, development, and progress across all areas of the curriculum.
  • Assist students with personal and educational goals, particularly those with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs.
  • Promote an environment that values equality, diversity, and respect for all.
  • Play a proactive role in fostering a positive learning environment, supporting students in developing confidence and independence.
  • Participate in physical intervention and personal care routines as required.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team to ensure the best outcomes for students, focusing on their transition into adult life.
