Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide tailored support to students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities.
- Work closely with the classroom teacher to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
- Assist in the development of social skills and independence in students.
- Use a variety of strategies to promote engagement and learning.
- Monitor and record students' progress, and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
- Adapt resources to meet the needs of students with varying disabilities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience as a Learning Support Assistant, particularly in an SEN setting.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by students with special educational needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Patience, empathy, and a dedicated approach to student development.
- Relevant qualifications in education or special needs education are preferred.
