  • Hours: 38.5 per week, 38 weeks per year (term time)

We are seeking an experienced SENDCo to join our dedicated team at a leading educational institution in Eltham. This non-teaching role offers an opportunity to significantly contribute to the strategic development of special educational needs (SEN) policy and provision, ensuring the best possible support for our students.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Oversee the strategic development of SEN policy and provision within the school.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the SEN policy and coordinate specific provisions to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability.
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues, fostering strong collaborations with staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Monitor and review the quality of SEN provisions through agreed methodologies.
  • Oversee all Annual Reviews and transition/destinations reports.
  • Contribute to school self-evaluation, particularly concerning provision for pupils with SEN or a disability.
  • Collaborate with early years providers, other schools, educational psychologists, health and social care professionals.
  • Uphold the school’s policies on safeguarding and promote the welfare of children and young people.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • National Award for SEN Co-ordination, or a willingness to complete it within 3 years of appointment (as required under the SEND Code of Practice).
  • QTS, PGCE, or equivalent qualification is essential.
  • A minimum of two years of teaching experience.
  • Proven involvement in self-evaluation and development planning.
  • Experience in conducting training or leading INSET sessions.
