SEN Teacher - Haringey - As an SEN Teacher in our special school for young people with ASD as their primary need. As the class teacher, we are looking for someone to make a major contribution to the successful teaching and learning opportunities offered.
Your Key Responsibilities as the SEN teacher:
- Ensuring that they can achieve their full educational potential and to establishing fair, respectful, trusting, supportive and constructive relationships with them.
- Hold positive values and attitudes and adopt high standards of behaviour in their professional role.
- Communicate effectively with children, young people, and colleagues.
- Act upon advice and feedback and be open to coaching and mentoring.
- Have a good, up-to-date working knowledge and understanding of a range of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies and know how to use and adapt them.
SEN Teacher Requirements:
- Experience as an SEN teacher specifically with ASD
- Able to teach Functional Skills qualifications and/or Btecs
- Ability to remain calm and reflective when working in a challenging environment.
- A resilient and proactive attitude, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Good energy and enthusiasm for supporting students with special educational needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
SEN Teacher Criteria
- Holding QTS
- DBS on the update service or willing to apply for one.
- 2 years' worth of references
Contract Details:
- Position: Full-time SEN Teacher
- Duration: Until the end of the academic year/Next Academic Year
