Qualified Teacher (SEN) - Permanent for the right candidate

Overview: We are seeking a qualified teacher or a candidate working towards Qualified Teacher Status who can inspire young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping students who find school life challenging, flexible, positive, and possess a 'can do' attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and deliver a broad, balanced, and differentiated curriculum tailored to the needs of learners, focusing on academic achievements and developing life and social skills.
  • Teach highly effective lessons, support students, and monitor their progress to enhance pupil achievements and prepare them for adulthood.
  • Develop your practice in line with the 'Teachers' Standards' and the school's vision and values, understanding pupils' needs through their EHCPs.

Specific Responsibilities:

Teaching and Learning:

  • Provide a high-quality learning experience for students.
  • Ensure lessons are well-resourced within budget constraints.
  • Plan differentiated lessons to cater to the variety of special needs within the class.
  • Oversee the effective deployment of teaching assistants.
  • Confidently teach across the curriculum.
  • Maintain and update student assessments in line with school policies.
  • Provide data and produce reports on student progress.

Assessment:

  • Maintain and update student assessments.
  • Provide data in line with the QA and accountability matrix.
  • Produce reports for students taught.

Curriculum:

  • Assist in developing appropriate schemes of work and the ongoing development of the curriculum.

Staff Development and Quality Assurance:

  • Engage in professional development and the school's appraisal process.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SEND.

Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with parents and external agencies.

Other Duties:

  • Ensure the safeguarding of students, following the school's policies and practices.
  • Adhere to the school's Health and Safety policy and undertake risk assessments.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Senior Leadership Team.
