About the Role:
TimePlan Education is seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a dedicated school team in Watford. This full-time position offers a rewarding opportunity to support and inspire students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lesson Planning and Delivery: Develop and deliver tailored lesson plans that meet the individual needs of students with SEN, ensuring alignment with the national curriculum.
- Classroom Management: Create a positive and structured classroom environment, managing student behavior effectively to foster a conducive learning atmosphere.
- Individualised Support: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and appropriate interventions.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Regularly assess students' progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback and adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other teachers, teaching assistants, and support staff to plan and deliver cohesive and comprehensive educational experiences.
- Parent and Guardian Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with the latest SEN teaching strategies and educational research.
- Support and Advocacy: Advocate for the needs and rights of students with SEN, ensuring they have access to the necessary resources and support.
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Experience: Proven experience in teaching secondary students with SEN in the UK is required. Experienced teachers are particularly encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to empathise with students and understand their needs.
- Commitment: A dedicated and committed approach to teaching, with a passion for supporting the educational and personal development of students with SEN.
- DBS Check: Must have a DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
