Cover People are working in partnership with a warm and welcoming secondary school in Oldham to find a SEN Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis from Monday 9th September. The school has excellent provision, with a vast number of resources to help you and the pupils that you’ll be supporting.
The ideal candidate will be booked until at least October half term, working on a one-to-one basis with a SEND student, supporting them across their full timetable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN needs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Help create a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
- Work alongside the teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop effective strategies for students.
- Provide support and guidance to students, help them to overcome challenges
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with SEND needs is highly desirable.
- Desire to work in mainstream secondary schools
- Passion and drive to help impact the lives of the children around you
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred but not essential.
- Commitment to promoting an inclusive and positive learning environment.
- Previous experience working within a school for 6 weeks+.
