SEN Teaching AssistantLocation: Darwen, LancashireSalary: £11.72 - £12.78 per hour (Actual salary: £20,941.30 - £22,835.30, depending on experience)? Hours: 40 hours per week - Term Time Only

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 1-2) to join our team in Darwen. In this role, you will support students aged 10-19 with complex needs, including Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and other related conditions.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students' learning, well-being, and personal development within a safe and nurturing environment. You'll work closely with the class teacher to design and deliver tailored learning activities, fostering independence, positive behaviour, and emotional growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and evaluating learning activities.
  • Provide feedback on student progress and achievement.
  • Monitor and report on student development, ensuring alignment with school policies.
  • Support positive behaviour management, adapting to each student's needs.
  • Encourage social, emotional, and behavioural development in line with the school's curriculum.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (required for student transport on a rota basis).
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above) - essential.
  • Level 2 qualification in Teaching and Learning Support (desirable).
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection.
  • Ability to adapt creatively and positively to meet individual student needs.
