The Role :

We are looking for a Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to work at a vibrant Secondary School based in West Cambridge. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will assist the teachers in delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual needs and support students in their social, emotional, and academic development. You are expected to foster a positive and nurturing classroom environment and collaborate with staff, parents, and external agencies on personalised learning plans.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant or equivalent.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong behaviour management skills.
  • Caring and empathetic personality.
  • Commitment to safeguarding children.
  • A DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Tailor support to address the unique learning requirements of students with SEN.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plan.)
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and support staff to foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Assist in maintaining classroom order, fostering a positive and stimulating learning atmosphere.
  • Establish effective communication with parents, teachers, and external professionals.
  • Regularly monitor and evaluate the academic and social progress of students with SEN.
  • Adapt teaching materials and resources to accommodate diverse learning needs.
