A primary school in Forest Row is seeking a caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide one-on-one support to a child with Cerebral Palsy. This role offers a rewarding chance to have a meaningful impact on a child's educational journey.

Role Overview:

  • Morning Hours Only: Work Monday to Friday, 8:30am-12:30pm (flexibility in hours may be possible).
  • Start Date: Immediate start or January 2025.
  • Focused Support: Deliver tailored, one-on-one support to a child with Cerebral Palsy, adjusting your approach to meet their unique needs and foster their growth.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experience Working with Children: Prior experience with children with Cerebral Palsy is an advantage, but we encourage candidates with experience supporting children with varied needs or strong skills in child development and education to apply.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to establish a positive, trusting relationship with the child and foster a nurturing learning environment.
  • Patience and Empathy: A calm, understanding, and compassionate approach to support both the learning and emotional needs of the child.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Willingness to embrace new methods and tailor teaching strategies to meet specific needs.
  • Commitment to Inclusive Education: Knowledge of creating and promoting an inclusive classroom environment that celebrates individual differences.
  • Positive and Encouraging Demeanor: A passion for motivating and supporting the child's educational progress.
  • Relevant Qualifications: While formal qualifications in education, childcare, or working with children with disabilities are a plus, they are not essential.
  • Commitment to Child Welfare: Dedication to safeguarding and enhancing children's well-being.
