We are currently seeking adaptable and resourceful SEND Teaching Assistants to join our team for day-to-day, long-term, and permanent assignments across primary schools in Kirklees.

Role OverviewAs an SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting pupils with additional needs, helping them succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Working closely with class teachers, you will:

• Provide one-to-one or small group support to assigned pupils with special educational needs (SEND).
• Assist with all curriculum subjects, ensuring students remain engaged and focused.
• Create a stimulating and nurturing learning environment to promote social and academic development.
• Support the wider class and teacher as needed.
• Foster strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to ensure the best outcomes.

RequirementsTo be considered for this role, you must:

• Have recent experience supporting children with special educational needs, ideally on a one-to-one basis.
• Demonstrate a nurturing and supportive approach, with excellent behaviour management skills.
• Show a passion for supporting pupils academically, socially, and emotionally.
• Build strong working relationships with children and staff.
• Have a solid understanding of varying special educational needs and associated challenges.
• Hold a Level 2 or 3 qualification in education or a related field.
• Possess a Team-Teach qualification or manual handling training (desirable but not essential).
